Located on the southwest corner of Falls and Greenspring Valley Roads just north of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) and the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83), Meadowood Regional Park serves as a green gateway to scenic Greenspring Valley. The park provides a balanced mix of recreation and nature, featuring a variety of recreational facilities as well as areas specifically designated for environmental preservation. The natural environment and recreation combine to make Meadowood Regional Park a destination popular with sports and nature enthusiasts alike.
The woodlands that encircle the recreational facilities at Meadowood Regional Park provide a scenic backdrop for the variety of activities that can be enjoyed at the park. Active sports programs of local recreation and parks councils, many of which lack space for everyone wishing to register and participate, are well served by Meadowood's seven athletic fields- five of which are lighted. These fields are essential to meeting the area's booming recreational demand for such sports as lacrosse, soccer, football, and field hockey. Meadowood's fields will allow worn, heavily-utilized fields in nearby communities to be rested and given time for their turf to become reestablished.
Meadowood Regional Park's three pavilions, which are available for reservation through the Northwest Area office (410-887-6747, e-mail northwestpc-rp@baltimorecountymd.gov), offer an attractive venue for family, company, and other group picnics.

Playground and Walking Paths
The nearby accessible playground is sure to be a hit with the kids. The paved path network that winds through the park has proven very popular, and provides an excellent opportunity to get a little exercise, whether you are a walker, jogger, bicycler, roller blader, or dog owner (park visitors with dogs are asked to keep the park safe and clean by keeping their dogs leashed and cleaning up after them). Meadowood's path has been marked with a one-mile route that allows visitors to gauge the distance they've covered, and to clock their time to cover the distance if they so desire.
Visitors entering Meadowood Park from its parking lot off of Falls Road will cross a footbridge spanning a tranquil wood-line stream. A lovely view of the Deep Run stream may be enjoyed from the bridge. Both Deep Run and a lengthy stretch of the Jones Falls (a County-designated environmental greenway), traverse the park property, meandering close to Meadowood's east, south, and west boundaries. Designated forest buffer areas have been established adjacent to the streams to help protect their water quality and to provide valuable wildlife habitat. Forest buffers such as those established at the park are an important part of Baltimore County's environmental initiatives, which are overseen by the County's Department of Environmental Protection and Resource Management . The woodlands at Meadowood Regional Park also provide a visual "break" from the nearby developed landscape, and preserve a "green space" that serves as a gateway to the scenic, predominantly rural Greenspring Valley.
