This addition adds approximately 43,000 sq. ft. to the school and increases the overall tech wing capacity to 553 seats, which increases the total state rated capacity of Kenwood by 404 seats.

The project improves classroom space as well as technology upgrades that are being used to assist teachers in delivering instruction.  It includes four new tech classrooms, a satellite cafeteria with kitchen and serving areas, and 18 additional classrooms.

Another 16,380 square feet in the old technology wing is under renovation to add five more technology classrooms, two classrooms for the school’s JROTC program, and associated areas.

Total cost of this entire project is estimated to be $15.5 million.  The State contributed $4,049,000 toward the project, and Baltimore County’s share was $11,517,204.
